Home remedies to help you glow & look ravishing this festive season!

The festive season is just around the corner, and everyone wants to look their absolute best, especially during Dusshera and Diwali. However, the polluted environment, dust and other forms of grime can make looking beautiful quite the daunting task.

You need to spend hours of time and a bunch of money committing yourself to beauty packages in plush parlours. So here are a few home remedies that you can easily prepare at home and look parlour radiant without even stepping out of your house!

Turmeric

Turmeric not only has amazing antiseptic properties, it also ensures that the pores of your skin open up. You can take one tsp of raw milk, a pinch of turmeric and 2 drops of almond oil and mix it together.  Wash it off with lukewarm water after 15-20 mins when dry, and see your face glow!

Lentils

Another ingredient in your kitchen that has amazing nourishing qualities are lentils. Take 1 tbsp of red masoor or green moong powder, add curd and a few drops of coconut oil to it. Mix it well, apply it to your face and get a natural facial! You can also use urad dal and papaya paste on your dark elbows, underarms and knees to lighten their complexion.

Fruit Peels

If you have oily skin, acne must be one of the problems you are suffering from. While eating fruits are a great habit to hydrate the system from within, applying fruits also go a long way to get rid of acne! Take orange and lemon peels and dry them under the sun. Powder them and apply them with some rose water, drops of honey and cucumber extract.

Ice Cubes

Another amazing tip for women, especially during summer, is to rub ice cubes on the face before applying heavy make-up for a festival or ceremony. This slows down sweating and also keeps the makeup on for longer than otherwise.

Potatoes

Slowly, there is a shift in mindset from the colour of skin to the quality of skin. So if you want healthy and luscious skin, here’s a great remedy. Half a grated potato, lime juice, 1 tsp cucumber grated, 1 tsp neem paste, 1 tsp rose petal paste and 2 tsp sandalwood powder. Apply it as a scrub and see your skin soften.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes and lemon together act as a natural bleaching agent and help fight oiliness of skin. So if you mash one tomato with 2 tablespoons of lime juice, it helps in lightening the skin and remove any pigmentation or dark patches.

Castor

A lot of women suffer from scanty eyebrow problems. So using castor oil and massaging that on your eyebrows for about 2-3 weeks can help you grow beautiful and thick eyebrows.

Almonds & Cream

Many ladies also suffer from dark lips due to smoking or inadequate water intake, besides internal issues or hereditary problems. So making a lip mask out of a paste of almond powder and 1 tsp of fresh cream will you reduce the darkness from your lips.

Banana & Honey

If you have extra dry skin, a banana and honey face pack will go a long way to bring the sheen back to your face and soften it considerably after a tiring day. Don’t throw away those overripe bananas. Mash them up, add some honey and apply the mix on your face and neck to soften your skin.
